Hi, I'm Kirsten Livingston, and I am one of the admissions counselors here at McGeorge. I came to McGeorge in the fall of 2014, thinking this would be a blip of six to nine months in my legal career as I waited for my deployed spouse to come home and my five year old to start kindergarten, and I am so glad that I was wrong in that assumption. I loved law school, not so much the Socratic method or the cold calling, but I love that it taught me to think and speak and write differently than anything else before. It's an education that I have found to be so valuable in so many aspects of my life, and I am so beyond thrilled that that has turned into a career that I just love.
I am fully convinced, though, that one of the reasons I love this so much are the people. Our students are bright and kind and warm. They volunteer, they give back, they get involved. They're engaged. They're funny. They're just the best, I'm convinced, the best people, and I am so lucky that I get to spend my day with them. We meet a lot of students at grad fairs, on college campuses, and just as many randomly in places in our community, and people coming into the office contemplating career changes. And watching individuals go from those starting points through the application process, being admitted, coming to campus, engaging, working, growing, kicking butt on our competition teams, and then seeing them at commencement and beyond, is hands down the most rewarding career I could have ever hoped for. I am beyond grateful to be at McGeorge. I hope to be here for a long time. I hope to see many of your faces on campus, and I hope you'll discover what's great about McGeorge in Sacramento.
